Bamboo Wood Vinegar, Scientific Pyro-Culture

Scientific Pyro-Culture

Humanity has always used controlled burning as a form of ecological engineering, learning from the fact that the tree and plant growth regenerating after naturally-occurring bush fires appeared healthier and attracted larger concentrations of wildlife populations and later that the bioactive compounds in liquid smoke (wood vinegar) have a signaling capacity similar to plant hormones (auxins) that influence the physiological features of plants.

Also known as Pyroligneous Acid (PA), Wood Vinegar is a reddish-brown organic liquid produced through pyrolysis of biomass and that captures the essence of wood’s natural properties. Its complex composition of primary bioactive agents (acetic acid, phenols, ketones, alcohols, esters and over 200 other organic compounds, macro and micro – nutrients (K, Ca, C, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn & Si) make Bamboo Wood Vinegar (BWV) an effective organic bio stimulant.

Benefits

  • Stimulates Plant Growth by enhancing root, tuber, foliage, flower, fruit development and crop yields through the action of bioactive compounds.
  • Reduces the cluster value of water by a third (1/3) thus enhancing nutrient availability and absorption.
  • Stimulates plant resistance to disease and biological and abiotic stress factors (drought/heat, high nitrogen levels, frost, etc.)
  • Improves fruit quality, flavor, firmness, colour and shelf-life of fresh produce through improved production of chlorophyll.
  • Boosts soil fertility through organic acids and trace minerals that nourish soil microbes and improve nutrient availability.
  • Deters insects and suppresses fungal/bacterial pathogens.
  • Speeds decomposition, reduces odors, and enriches compost quality for nutrient-dense humus.
  • Improves feed digestion for livestock and poultry by reducing bacterial infections in the gastro-intestinal tract. `
