Struvos | Recovered Phosphorous (STRUVITE)

Struvite’s slow-release characteristic is suited to precision nutrient application and cuts conventional fertilizer loss to volatilization, leaching, nutrient immobilization, water runoff and re-application by a factor of 4 to 15 in real conditions, yet some Struvite field trials have reported much-reduced losses in the range of only 2 to 4%. The costs of fertilizer re-application (a second or third time, mostly as superphosphate) may then be avoided over the entire season, delivering huge savings in geographical areas with acidic soils, the low pH of which hinders the plant availability of phosphorous, and where the excessive application of high-phosphate mineral fertilizer further lowers the absorption of micro-nutrients and occasions much-reduced crop yields even in subsequent seasons. Still, the excessive buildup of phosphorous in uneven terrain occasions further economic loss to poor quality of crop and reduced yields.

STRUVOS SRP, a uniquely formulated slow- release balanced (with potassium) Struvite fertilizer delivers the following benefits.Reduces pollution and losses due to fertilizer runoff against comparable crop yields.Reduces the health risks associated with the buildup of cadmium and uranium in soils and the food chain due to excessive application of mineral phosphate fertilizers, usually of varying purity. The bioaccumulation of cadmium in the food chain (crops and animals) can lead to serious health problems.Reduced GHG emissions (N2O especially - a greenhouse gas nearly 300 times as powerful as CO2 and methane).Low carbon footprint in production.
